Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Golf event postponed to October in Lake Charles

The annual Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Golf Classic, presented by Relief Windows, been postponed until Sunday, October 4 through Monday October 5 due to impact of the global coronavirus (COVID-19).

The tournament pairings party and 18-hole scramble tournament were initially scheduled for April 5-6 at the Golden Nugget-Lake Charles. The closure of all Louisiana casino facilities forced the event to be pushed back six weeks originally but the LSHOF Foundation decided to shift the event again as the country continues to deal with the effects of the pandemic.

The LSHOF is looking forward to the time that we can all be together again and expressed our most sincere gratitude for everyone’s continued patience and support.

The Golden Nugget-Lake Charles and its championship 18-hole golf course remains the host of the 2020 event.

“We have a wonderful sponsor in Relief Windows and a tremendous host at the Golden Nugget-Lake Charles, and continue to look forward to our second golf tournament in Lake Charles,” said Ronnie Rantz, CEO/President of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Foundation.

Registration remains open for the event on the LaSportsHall.com website, along with participation opportunities for the rescheduled 2020 Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Induction Celebration, now set for December 15-17 in Natchitoches.

Nearly 30 teams and sports celebrities, including nearly two dozen Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame members, participated in the 2019 golf event at the Golden Nugget-Lake Charles.
